§ Mr. Soleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the estimated cost of central Government funding of Greater London council services not devolved to local authorities.
§ Mrs. RumboldThere is provision for additional central Government current expenditure of some £19 million on services carried out by the GLC. It is for the Arts Council, the Sports Council and the Countryside Commission to allocate additional funds, totalling over £30 million, given to them on account of the abolition of the Greater London council and the metropolitan county councils.
