§ Mr. Wattsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received about the rating reform proposals in the Green Paper "Paying for Local Government", and what steps he has taken to bring his proposals to the attention of the general public.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerTo date I have received 201 responses on this aspect of our proposals. The consultation period ends on 31 October. My Department has prepared a summary of the proposals in booklet form. Copies are available on request from my Department.
I have arranged for copies to be placed in the Library and in the Vote Office.
