§ Mr. Lawlerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much the Housing Corporation has authorised housing associations to spend in the Bradford metropolitan district council area in 1986–87, and in the Bradford, North constituency; how these figures compare with last year's figures; and to what he attributes the difference.
§ Sir George YoungThe Housing Corporation has made the following allocations for housing association expenditure in Bradford MDC and in my hon. Friend's Bradford, North constituency for the years 1985–86 and 1986–87:
1985–86 million £ 1986–87 million £ (i) Bradford Metropolitan District Council Fair rent (block 3) 5.10 6.00 Low Cost Home Ownershp 1.97 0.95 Total 7.07 6.95 (ii) Bradford North Constituency Fair rent (block 3) 1.8 2.1 Low Cost Home Ownership 0.1 0.5 Total 1.9 2.6 Two factors have led to the increase in the allocation for Bradford for fair rent schemes the increased concentration of resources into inner city areas in 1986–87, and Bradford's score on the Housing Corporation's housing needs indicator. The reduction in the amount to be made available for LCHO schemes in 1986–87 reflects the reduced national allocation for LCHO within the 1986–87 ADP. Allocations within Bradford are made by agreement with the city council, taking account of its priorities and those of individual housing associations.
