§ 26. Mr. Tom Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the latest progress towards conclusion of a test ban treaty.
§ Mr. RentonThe Conference on Disarmament at Geneva is currently holding its 1986 session. As last year, we are seeking agreement on a non-negotiating mandate for an ad hoc committee to examine problems which stand in the way of progress towards a comprehensive test ban treaty.
Meanwhile the ad hoc group of scientific experts met in Geneva in the week beginning 17 March.
