§ Mrs. ChalkerPlacing contracts for the scheme depends on the outcome of the nine-month public inquiries which ended in June. The Secretaries of State for the Environment and for Transport will announce their decision as soon as possible after receiving the inspector's report, which is expected to be submitted in the first half of 1986. On present programmes, work could start during 1987.
