The responses showed overwhelming support for the unification of funding and administration in the new two-year scheme.

The figures for completions in 1984–85 include a number of young people who started training in 1983–84 and finished their course in 1984–85. Similarly, many young people entering schemes in 1984–85 will not complete their training programme until 1985–86.
