§ 51. Mr. Stephen Ross
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has had on provision for civil emergencies.
§ Mr. Giles Shaw
My right hon. Friend has received representations on the implementation of the Government's manifesto commitment to amend the Civil Defence Act 1948 to allow civil defence resources to be used in peacetime emergencies. We remain firmly 211W committed to this, and to an all hazards approach to emergency planning, and we continue to look for an early opportunity to promote suitable amending legislation.
