§ Mr. Tim Smithasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to issue codes of practice in accordance with sections 66 and 67 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
§ Mr. HurdI have today laid before Parliament draft codes in accordance with section 66 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. It is my intention to bring them into operation with effect from 1 January 1986 by order made by statutory instrument and I shall seek the approval by resolution of each House of Parliament as soon as possible.
