§ Mr. John MacKayThe areas of study referred to in the report relate predominantly to matters of local service. There is no central record of any research which may have been carried out into these matters by health boards or by local authorities.
The committee for research and equipment for the disabled of the Chief Scientist's Office, Scottish Home and Health Department, is undertaking a major survey of aids and equipment for the disabled which will provide some indirect information on numbers of disabled.
