§ Mr. WhitneyResponsibility for the day-to-day management of ambulance services in England rests with health authorities locally. There is no central advice on vehicle manning levels. It is for each ambulance authority to determine the manpower needed to carry out the duties required in any particular 24-hour period. Variations in manning requirements will be affected by a number of factors which can be known and estimated only locally.
