§ Mr. Peter BottomleyVisual display units do not normally cause health problems but the environment and manner in which they are used can. Current evidence does not indicate any need to introduce controls on the total time spent by workers operating these units. Recent studies have not identified any excess risks to women operators during pregnancy. The Health and Safety Executive has published guidance in the booklet "Visual Display Units". There are no plans to introduce legislation.
