asked the Secretary of Stale for Social Services (1) if he will give details of the salary structure of hospital pharmacists;

(2) what information he has concerning the average rate of pay of hospital pharmacists.

The following is the salary structure of hospital pharmacists in England with effect from 1 April 1984:

An offer made in the Pharmaceuical Whitley Council on 8 November to increase all scale points by 4.7 per cent. with effect from 1 April 1985 is at present subject to consultation by the trade unions concerned.

On average, earnings of hospital pharmacists are 1 per cent. above the basic salaries listed above.
