§ The Solicitor-GeneralMy right hon. and noble Friend the Lord Chancellor intends the 24-hour duty solicitor scheme to come into effect on 1 January 1986, at the same time as the relevant provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. The Law Society has been invited to ensure that the arrangements are uniformly effective as soon as possible.
