§ Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make periodical reports to the House on the savings effected in the South Atlantic as a result of the opening of the new airport at Mount Pleasant.
§ Mr. StanleyI refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley on 22 April in column 386. The savings are expected initially to be of the order of those in that reply. My right hon. Friend will continue to keep the House informed.
