§ Sir George Young[pursuant to his reply, 20 May 1985]: There has been no change in the policy set out in the reply I gave to the hon. Member on 17 December, column 14. An amendment to the relevant clause in the Local Government Bill, now clause 86, has been tabled in 374W another place to reinforce the arrangements for collective research by the London boroughs; but it remains for them to decide what research is necessary.
