§ Mr. ButlerCivil servants resigning or retiring from the Ministry of Defence in order to take up appointments in defence-related industries are required to seek prior departmental approval before so doing. This requirement remains effective for a period of two years following an individual's date of retirement or resignation. The number of civil servants who take up such appointments within the two years is not readily available. The number who take up appointments after two years is not known to my Department.
