HL Deb 03 May 1985 vol 463 c519WA
Lord Simon of Glaisdale

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Which statutory provisions since 1945 have given a power to, or imposed a duty upon, a Minister of the Crown which might require public expenditure, without accompanying it with the formula "with the consent of the Treasury", or words to the like effect.

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Arts (The Earl of Gowrie)

Since there is no specific record of such statutory provisions, I regret the information cannot be provided without a disproportionate expenditure of time and resources.
