HC Deb 02 May 1985 vol 78 c189W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Prime Minister, if she has discussed with the French Government their intentions about the possible use for military purposes of plutonium produced by the Superphénix reactor.

The Prime Minister

I refer to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Member for Pudsey (Mr. Shaw) to the hon. Member for Edinburgh, East (Mr. Strang) on 3 April 1984 at columns435–36. We have made known our requirement for assurances of peaceful use of United Kingdom equipment and material supplied to France for the purpose of the collaboration.
