What are the housing investment programmes for the current financial year of the six largest metropolitan districts; what they were for the last financial year; and whether, if there are any shortfalls from that year, these can be carried over and transferred to the current programme.

The six largest (by population) metropolitan districts and their housing investment programme allocations for 1984–85 and 1985–86 are listed below:
