HC Deb 01 May 1985 vol 78 c168W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the average length of time taken to deal with a complaint of interference to broadcast reception in the London area; and what steps are being taken to improve it.

Mr. Butcher

The average waiting time for the first visit is three months in north London and six weeks in south London. Subsequent visits may be necessary to resolve a case. The Department is currently reviewing the activities of the radio investigation service and the information available to the public on dealing with broadcast reception problems, with a view to making the most effective use of the available resources.
