§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his policy towards ownership of the farms owned by the Greater London council in the green belt after 1 April 1986.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneAny farms on land acquired by the GLC or its predecessors under the Green Belt (London and Home Counties) Act 1938 would be transferred in accordance with my statement of decisions on 1938 Act land, a copy of which I have placed in the Library. I have said that I am fully committed to the protection of this land, which I regard as inalienable.
