§ 45. Mr. Robert Banksasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he next intends to review the work of the Contact Five Group in relation to progress and new initiatives for achieving independence for Namibia.
§ Mr. RifkindMy right hon. and learned Friend keeps in close touch with his Contact Group colleagues. They continue to examine ways in which they could make a constructive contribution to achieving Namibian independence. But clearly it would not be helpful to take initiatives which would cut across the current negotiations towards a settlement.
