§ Mr. Freemanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he proposes to take to ensure that all mature students in full-time education are better informed of their right to make flat rate national insurance contributions so as to preserve their contributions record.
§ Mr. WhitneyA leaflet (FB23) "Going to College or University" containing information on the payment of national insurance contributions and social security benefits is currently available. Posters advertising this leaflet and advising students that copies can be obtained from their local social security office were distributed to colleges and universities during last year. We have no plans for further publicity at present.
