§ 57. Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what recent representations he has received from local education authorities about the level of the 1985–86 rate support grant settlement.
§ Mr. DunnMy right hon. Friend met elected members of the local authority associations last October to discuss the level of local authority expenditure on education in England to underlie the 1985–86 RSG settlement. This meeting was the culmination of detailed discussions between officials of the Department and of the local authority associations. In addition, the Department receives many letters from individual local authorities on expenditure issues in each financial year.
