§ Mr. MellorI share my hon. Friend's interest in securing that work done by offenders under community service orders should be as useful and constructive as possible, but I doubt whether it would be practicable to encourage probation committees to extend the schemes into the area of civil defence. My right hon. and learned Friend has received no proposals to do so.
