asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the number of general practitioners per 1,000 population in the Glasgow region and the remaining health areas of Great Britain for the last 10 years.

The numbers of general medical practitioners, including assistants and trainees, per 1,000 population for Greater Glasgow health board and for the other health boards in Scotland for each year for the period requested are shown in the table. Details for England and Wales are matters for my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Social Services and Wales respectively.
