§ Mr. Forthasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what brief will be given to the United Kingdom delegation to the United Nations end of decade for women conference in Nairobi; and against what criteria the success of the conference will be judged.
§ Mr. RentonOur delegation will be briefed to make a constructive contribution to the review of the progress made in attaining the goals and objectives of the decade, and to the formulation of strategies for the advancement of women in the period up to the year 2000. We shall evaluate the conference by its ability to produce practical proposals for the advancement of women, particularly in eliminating discrimination.
