§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he has any plans to issue guidelines to the Manpower Services Commission about the provision of retraining placements for redundant mineworkers.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonI have no plans to issue any special guidelines. The appropriate range of Manpower Services Commission services will of course be available to any redundant mineworkers. In that connection, I understand that the National Coal Board is in discussion with the commission about training opportunities as part of the NCB (Enterprise) Ltd. initiative.
