HC Deb 07 March 1985 vol 74 cc561-2W
Miss Maynard

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the value of grain stored in the United Kingdom on 30 November 1984; and what is the cost of storing such grain per day.

Mr. MacGregor

Information on the cost of its storage is commercially confidential and depends on contractual terms negotiated at variable rates with individual storekeepers. The best guide is probably the monthly increment in intervention prices, which is designed to represent, on the basis of objective intervention provided by all EC member states, the cost of holding grain in store for one month, ignoring

No authorisations under the Cruelty to Animals Act 1876 can be granted to organisations. I regret that information about individual licencees with the greatest number of authorisations is not readily available and could be ascertained only at disportionate cost.
