HC Deb 07 March 1985 vol 74 cc566-7W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will publish in he Official Report the estimated disposals on world markets on which the European agricultural guidance and guarantee fund guarantee section of the 1985 budget appropriations is based, specifying the tonnage of the principal products and the corresponding outturn for 1984.

Mr. MacGregor

The 1985 European Community budget has not yet been adopted. Final statistics on exports of agricultural products from the Community are not yet available for 1984.

Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing for meat, dairy products and sugar (a) the ex-farm, ex-factory price, (b) the target price, (c) the intervention price and (d) the retail price in 1984 and at the latest available date, where possible on the same basis as the reply to the hon. Member for Great Grimsby on 25 June 1980, Official Report, columns 215–18.

Mr. MacGregor

The information requested on ex-farm, ex-factory prices and retail prices is in the following tables. Details of target and intervention prices are set out on pages 234–243 of "The Agricultural Situation in the European Community-1984 Report", a copy of which is in the Library of the House. The representative rate, at which institutional prices should be converted to sterling, remains at £1=1.61641 ecu.
