§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received from police committees and federations about the possibility of taxation being imposed on lump sums received by senior police officers upon retirement.
§ Mr. Moore[pursuant to his reply, 28 February 1985, c. 262]: We have received a small number of representations from police federations on this subject. As these are treated in confidence, I cannot comment on any individual case.
