§ Dr. McDonaldasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will provide an estimate of the percentage of the average household's income taken in (a) direct tax and the percentage of income taken and (b) indirect tax and such as taxes on expenditure and rates in 1984;
(2) if he will provide an estimate of the percentage of income of the richest tenth of households taken in (a) direct taxes and (b) indirect taxes in 1984.
