§ Mr. Gareth Wardell
asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report the funds his Department has made available to the Health Education Council for each of the past five years.

§ Mr. John Patten
The Health Education Council is funded jointly by the Department, the Welsh Office and the Department of Health and Social Services for Northern Ireland. Total Government funds allocated to the Council for each of the past five years are as follows, with the Department's contribution shown in brackets.
