§ 16. Mr. Altonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he is satisfied that local education authorities have sufficient resources to renovate and maintain school buildings.
§ Sir Keith JosephI should like to see an improvement by many local education authorities in their level of 345W expenditure on the repair and maintenance of school buildings. If costs are contained and savings made elsewhere there should be scope in the current financial year for some improvement in expenditure per pupil in many authorities on reapirs and maintenance.
