Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his estimate of the amount spent in each of the last five years on research and development and advisory services in agriculture in England and Wales.

Information about Government expenditure on research in agriculture is given in the Ministry's Annual Reports on Research and Development. The amounts spent in England and Wales are estimated to be:
