§ Mr. Michael SpicerWe have received a number of representations both for and against the licensing of private hire cars in London. Having consulted the Metropolitan police and the Motor Insurance Bureau, we have concluded that this question should be investigated as part of the review of taxi and hire car legislation which we proposed to start once the provisions concerning taxis in the Transport Bill are in operation.
