§ Mr. Beggsasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the cost to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive of the three test holes at Agnes street, Carrickfergus, County Antrim, excavated by mechanical digger; what was the name of the contractors; if a charge was included for transporting the machine to the site; and why a local contractor was not hired for this project.
§ Mr. Chris PattenThis is a matter for the chairman of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive who has advised me that four holes were dug at the site at a cost of about £133 including the cost of bringing diggers to the location. The first two holes were dug by McFarlane Bros of Glengormley and the other two by V A Irwin of Drumbo who was working elsewhere in the area and had a digger readily available.
