HL Deb 30 July 1985 vol 467 c264WA
The Earl of Lauderdale

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish the assurances reportedly given to the EEC Commission that onshore and offshore licence offers do not discriminate against non-British suppliers.

The Minister of State, Scottish Office (Lord Gray of Contin)

In connection with a recent complaint to the Commission, it was made clear that United Kingdom policies for petroleum production licensing are interpreted and applied in a manner consistent with the provisions of Community law and will continue to be operated in a way that respects our EC treaty and other international obligations.
