Mr. Hancock

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much traditional urban aid Portsmouth city council has received in the years since 1978.

For the years from 1977–78 to 1985–86 inclusive, Portsmouth city council's estimated project expenditure approved under the traditional urban programme totalled £2,057,157, of which 75 per cent. is being met by Government.
