HC Deb 25 July 1985 vol 83 c714W
Mr. Fallon

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will now make it his policy to relieve new small businesses of national insurance contributions.

Mr. Peter Rees

The Social Security Bill 1985 sets out the rates of national insurance contributions that will apply from 6 October 1985. The reduced rates for employers' contributions in respect of lower paid employees should encourage employment in new firms as well as old.
