§ Mr. Brandon-Bravoasked the Secretary of State for Transport what expenditure levels he proposes to determine in respect of 1986–87 for the new passenger transport authorities.
§ Mr. RidleyI expect to receive shortly the financial plans of the passenger transport executives which are submitted to me under the provisions of the Transport Act 1983. My advice under section 3(5) of that Act was issued to the PTEs in May this year, and I expect the plans to include projections based on that advice. Expenditure levels determined for the new authorities will need to take into account the best available information from the PTEs, and I do not therefore propose to announce figures until the new authorities are established.
