HC Deb 25 July 1985 vol 83 cc703-4W
Mr. Heddle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether as a matter of policy each application for listed building consent for a private house listed as class 2 under the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 is considered individually as to whether the application affects the character of the building.

Mr. Gow

It is for the local planning authorities to decide how to determine such applications. My right hon. Friend would expect each application to be considered individually on its merits and as quickly as possible.
