§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he now intends to take as a result of the Foreign Affairs Committee report on the circumstances surrounding the sinking of the General Belgrano on 1–2 May 1982.
§ Mr. RentonWe will respond in the normal way to this report. It would be wrong to anticipate that reply. The House will meanwhile be aware that the Report concludes that the attack on the General Belgrano was authorised for legitimate military reasons.
