(2) what would be the estimated cost to the Exchequer of raising the married and single personal allowances to £4,500 and £2,250, respectively; and how much of this would represent a parallel increase in the wife's earnings allowance.
(3) how much revenue is raised through income tax on the difference between the relevant personal allowance and (a) £4,500 for a married person and (b) £2,250 for a single person.
(4) whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the estimated cost of wife's earnings allowance by tax unit income bands in the current financial year.

§ Mr. HayhoeThe stamp duty on residential property is estimated to have raised £290 million in 1984–85. I regret that a meaningful estimate of theVAT on such transactions cannot be given.
