§ Dr. David Clarkasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will introduce legislation to apply planning control to intensive livestock and horticultural buildings in areas of outstanding natural beauty.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneThe erection of farm buildings is within the limits specified in class VI of the General Development Order "permitted development" under that class. I have published proposals to remove class VI rights from new livestock buildings near housing, so that planning applications would be required; and proposals to qualify class VI rights in respect of farm and forestry roads and buildings in the national parks.
