§ Mr. John Stradling ThomasCompensation for all reasonable oil pollution clean-up costs related to a spillage at sea by an identified tanker is available through international regimes. Affected local authorities should submit claims to the insurers as promptly as possible. The question of Government funds to meet exceptional expenditure does not therefore arise.
