§ Mr. Alan ClarkInformation about job gains and job losses is not available from the Department's statistics, but an indication of the net changes can be seen by comparing levels of employees in employment at different dates. The following tables list those industries in Great Britain which have shown the greatest increase in the actual number of employees in employment, and those which have increased most in percentage terms, between December 1983 and December 1984. The full list of industries, analysed according to the 1980 standard industrial classification, from which these tables are compiled are those given in table 1.4 of the labour market data section ofEmployment Gazette, copies of which are in the Library.
