§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what has been the local education authority expenditure on equipment, in each of the last five years, in terms of (a) cost, (b) real terms according to 1982–83 prices and (c) the percentage of the local education authority budget as a whole for each local education authority and for all local education authorities in total.
§ Mr. DunnThe information for the last five years could be provided only at disproportionate cost. It is, however, possible to provide it for three of them but it is not possible to give the information for some authorities: expenditure on equipment is one of the items covered by the school capitation allowances and an analysis of the components of these allowances is not always available.
