Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is (a) the total running cost of the European University Institute, (b) the number of (i) teaching and (ii) research staff employed and (c) the level of pay for members of staff by grade at current rates of exchange in each of the last five years.
§ Mr. BrookeDetails of the total approved budget of the institute and of the number of teaching and research staff employed in each of the last five years are given in the tables below. All staff at the institute are employed and paid by reference to the grading structure established for officials and other servants of the European Communities. The salary scales are those agreed annually by the EC member states, using the weighting applicable to Italy, but the information requested at(c) on the level of pay could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
