§ Mr. DunnAll local education authorities in England have arrangements for their education committee which have been approved by my right hon. Friend or his predecessors, as they have been required by law to do since 1944.

§ Mr. DunnMy right hon. Friend has no power to amend proposals as to the composition of education 23W committees. Since September 1981 he has approved all such proposals which have been put formally to him, with the exception of three which have been recently received and on which no decision has yet been reached.
